The Minnesota Rebate Program (MRP) is an alternate pass-through model approved only for the Minnesota Department of Education-Food and Nutrition Service (MDE-FNS) by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This distribution model offers a rebate to sponsors through a state-administered rebate system where sponsors are able to utilize their USDA Foods entitlement with approved commercial foodservice products (from approved USDA manufacturers accepting USDA Foods) available through their foodservice distributors.
Sponsors participate in the MRP by submitting projected purchase quantities of approved rebate groups offered on Minnesota Cyber-Linked Interactive Child Nutrition System (CLiCS 1) Product Surveys. The Food Distribution Program summarizes demand information from the surveys and orders USDA Foods accordingly. Sponsors are able to monitor eligible rebates, submit MRP rebate claims and track rebate payments through CLiCS 1. Eligible rebates are paid by MDE-FNS when full value payment of USDA Food is received from each manufacturer.
