The Minnesota Department of Education will engage in rulemaking when we are given legislative authority to do so. At times the department may have multiple rulemaking projects occurring simultaneously or the department may not be engaged in any rulemaking proceedings.
Information about current rulemaking projects are listed on the left side of this page. The agency maintains an updated public rulemaking docket containing a list of each proposed rule currently under active consideration and each pending rulemaking proceeding.
Gifted and Talented Youth Week
Governor Mark Dayton has proclaimed November 2-8, 2014, to be Gifted and Talented Youth Week in Minnesota. In addition to recognizing the unique potential of gifted and talented youth, seize the opportunity to laud the efforts of the parents, educators, counselors and psychologists with whom they work. Their sustained efforts, coupled with the organized advocacy of the Minnesota Council for Gifted and Talented (MCGT) and the Minnesota Educators of Gifted and Talented (MEGT), help make our state one in which gifted learners are honored and valued.
