ROSEVILLE – Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius will visit schools in Northern Minnesota this week, recognizing them for their hard work and successes in educating students. With the release of this year’s Multiple Measurements Rating (MMR), Cass Lake-Bena High School and Red Lake High School are no longer designated as Priority schools because of their substantial progress in raising achievement for all students and reducing achievement gaps.
Cassellius will also visit schools in Bemidji, including Jack & Jill Preschool, a four-star Parent Aware rated preschool operated in partnership by Bemidji Area Schools and Bemidji State University, and TrekNorth Junior & Senior High School, which has been designated as a Reward school three years in a row. Finally, the commissioner will speak at the 2013 Minnesota Indian Education Association Conference in Mahnomen, and tour White Earth Tribal & Community College.
