Commissioner Cassellius: Congrats Class of 2014
Published: June 27, 2014
Congratulations! Graduating high school is not an easy feat. It is the culmination of many years of hard work- years filled with classes, homework, athletics, extra-curricular activities and after-school jobs. All that time and effort has finally paid off and you are now prepared to take on your next adventure as you start college or a career.
As you enter the next phase of your life, I encourage you to take some time and thank those around you who have helped you along the way. Whether it’s your family, friends, community members, a mentor, your teachers or all of the above; no one of us ever gets to where we are without the help of others who have advocated, supported, and cheered us on along the way. I know they all are very proud of you and are celebrating and sharing in this success with you.
Finally, no matter what, always dream big. You've proven with this diploma that you can achieve what your hearts desires. Graduating from high school opens up countless opportunities and now you get to choose the future you want. Don’t be afraid to aim high and to challenge yourself. The world needs more creators, innovators and leaders. You have learned about courageous men and women who changed the world, now you have the opportunity to inspire others and pay it forward for the next generation. I, for one, can’t wait to see what you do.
