Senator Franken, Commissioner Cassellius Recognize Student Poets

Published: May 27, 2014

This year marks the third annual student poetry contest held by Senator Al Franken. The contest, which coincides with Memorial Day, asks youth in grades K-12 to submit a poem honoring veterans. This year’s theme was “Celebrating the Veteran in My Life,” and students from across Minnesota took to their notebooks, penning moving poems about their own personal heroes.
