Legislative Reports

The Minnesota Department of Education prepares reports for the Legislature, as required by statute, to inform lawmakers and the public about department programs, to detail research studies conducted by the department on education issues, or as an accountability tool for programs for which the commissioner has oversight.

In most cases, reports are due to the Legislature in the fiscal year following the activity; for instance, the staff development report completed in fiscal year 2008 includes data from the 2006-07 school year.  The reports on this page are categorized by the fiscal year in which they are due.  Document descriptions include the year from which the data was collected, if applicable. Contact information is included in each report.

During the legislative session, the department is often asked to present information on education-related topics. Slideshows created for this purpose will be made available after each presentation.
