The board is made up of 35 volunteers from around the state.
A statewide Summit on Global Learning was held on May 9, 2013 to provide an opportunity for educators to learn about integrating global learning into their curriculum. Stakeholders, including PK-12 and postsecondary educators; business partners, government and community organizations participated in a full day of discussions on the impact and relevance of global learning.
The Global Literacy Task Board presented a workshop, “Designing lessons and units for global learning” to 76 K-12 teachers on March 1, 2014. Teachers were given sample lessons and units, an array of global learning resources and an opportunity to work with a network of teachers from across the state.
Next month, attendees will share the lessons designed as part of the March workshop with other teachers. Lessons will be posted on the St. Cloud State University Confucius Institute Website.
Future work through the grant will be planned through the SCSU Confucius Institute.
