The Pupil Fair Dismissal Act (PFDA) section contains federal and state laws and resources related to the PFDA. This section also contains a copy of the PFDA, which sets out the procedures that districts must follow when suspending or expelling/excluding a student from school.
The PFDA explains a student's and parent's due process rights when a student is dismissed from school. The PFDA brochure includes state and federal laws related to student discipline, harassment, and violence. The school district must provide the student and parent(s) a copy of the PFDA brochure each time a student is suspended, expelled, or excluded from school.
