School districts build, maintain and renovate facilities to provide surroundings conducive to the education process. In the past 50 years, education has changed and school facilities have also changed to provide for new technology requirements, additional space for early childhood and other community-based partnership programs, and state-of-the-art science laboratories. School districts may reorganize in several manners to provide the best educational services to students in a way that maximizes state, local and federal district revenues and use of district facilities.
Please note: In our ongoing efforts to make the Minnesota Department of Education website more consistent, School Finance spreadsheets and reports that are run on an annual or ongoing basis are being relocated to the Data Center. The Building Age and Construction Reports will remain in both places (in this section and in the Data Center) until June 30, 2012, at which time they will only be available on the Data Center site. The Building Age Reports page will be taken down at that time, as well.
Visit the Data Center now to find School Finance spreadsheets and reports.
