Library Services and Technology Act Grant
Minnesota’s Five Year Library Services and Technology Act (2013-2017) identifies two overarching goals and several sub-goals directed at ensuring that all Minnesotans have access to quality library services. One is to expand programs and services that support Minnesotan’s needs for education, lifelong learning, continuing education, workforce development, 21st century and digital literacy skills; the second is to establish a strong infrastructure and build capacity for improved coordination among and between eligible libraries to improve the quality of and access to library and information services.

Gifted and Talented Youth Week
Governor Mark Dayton has proclaimed November 2-8, 2014, to be Gifted and Talented Youth Week in Minnesota. In addition to recognizing the unique potential of gifted and talented youth, seize the opportunity to laud the efforts of the parents, educators, counselors and psychologists with whom they work. Their sustained efforts, coupled with the organized advocacy of the Minnesota Council for Gifted and Talented (MCGT) and the Minnesota Educators of Gifted and Talented (MEGT), help make our state one in which gifted learners are honored and valued.
