Schools that participate in School Nutrition Programs are required to verify a percentage of their approved Applications for Educational Benefits each school year and report verification results annually to the Minnesota Department of Education.  This involves obtaining household income documentation (such as copies of pay stubs) or obtaining information from employers or public agencies. 

School meal benefits are terminated when the benefit cannot be verified.  Forms for notifying families that they have been selected for verification or notifying families concerning termination or reduction of school meal benefits are available.
