Public Libraries and the Internet - A National Study
2008-2011 Technology Planning Guide for MN School Districts, Charter Schools, Non-Public Schools and Public Libraries outlines criteria school districts, charter schools, non-public schools and public libraries should address if they want to submit a plan to MDE's School Improvement Division, or, for public libraries, MDE's State Library Services Division, for review and approval.

| Library Journal has released the first annual LJ Index of Public Library Service which rated 7,115 public libraries among nine peer groups. Minnesota has eight libraries out of 256 nationally (3%) that received between three and five stars. Nationally, Minnesota has 2% of all public libraries. | |
