The Minnesota-China Teacher Exchange offers Minnesota teachers an opportunity to teach in China for either a semester or full academic school year. Minnesota licensed K-12 teachers with native or native-like English skills are eligible to apply. Teachers teach conversational English skills and share American culture at the Hangzhou Foreign Language School in Hangzhou, China. The teachers learn about Chinese culture and perspectives to share with their students and colleagues when they return.
Teachers from the Hangzhou International Foreign Language School participate in the teacher exchange program each year. The teachers teach Chinese language and culture in their host schools and, in turn, deepen their understanding of American culture and improve their language skills. White Bear Lake and Minnetonka Public schools are experienced participants in the Hangzhou teacher exchange program.
